🕰 ✨HAPPY NEW YEAR ✨🕰

Glorious Sunset

HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all.And I hope you had a wonderful Christmas or whatever it is you celebrate during this season.

We had a wonderful Christmas holiday. Grandkids and great grandkids showed up with food and gifts Christmas Eve day. We got rocking chairs for our deck. Can't wait till summer when we can use them. I like to move so I love rockers. We have a rocker in every room "almost". Rocking is comforting to me and sometimes when my Fibromyalgia keeps me up at night I will sit in a rocker and rock as fast as I can...and that helps me get over it. They were all wrapped up in brown paper and we couldn't tell what they were so I asked them if they got us both walkers?

Christmas day we got got up early and got the Christmas chicken wings in the oven. They take 3 hours to cook and you have to turn them every hour. It is an old family recipe and everyone loves them. Actually I posted the recipe on this blog years ago. The problem this year was I didn't make enough so have to make more next year. It is just our kids and spouses (if they have one) on Christmas day so it is a smaller group. Everyone brings snacks since we decided we didn't want to have a big meal. Snacks are easier and more fun, cause you can eat all day. I did make a pineapple upside down cake for dessert, though. Sent the leftover cake home with our youngest son. We have so many desserts that people had given us we couldn't eat it all. I had to freeze two apple pies, some muffins and several bunches of cookies. I think we are set up for awhile. Then we played UNO for about 5 hours. We laughed and had so much fun...plus lots of hugs and love. It was wonderful and I am even more blessed to have my husband with me this year. There were many days during this past summer when I didn't think that would be. So it was an extra special Christmas for me.

I have been trying to learn how to submit themes for Thunderbird. At almost 81 years old, I am having a hard time. They are much more difficult to submit that Firefox themes. So far I haven't been able to submit any and I won't be able to get back to it till after the holiday since a lot of Firefox/Mozilla people are off for the holidays. But I will figure it out....hopefully before I am 82. So everyone that has requested them...I am trying....please have patience.

Going to sign off for now. Happy New Year to you and yours.

⛄ Using Themes on Newest Thunderbird ⛄

Holiday Greetings for You

I have been asked numerous times about adding a theme to the latest version of Thunderbird. To be honest, I hadn't updated my Thunderbird so didn't realize themes didn't want to work! So I posted on the theme forum and got an answer today. It is not the easiest answer to follow but I managed to figure it out...so I am sure the rest of you can if I did.

"The easiest way to install themes in Thunderbird is to open the Add-ons Manager and then use the search bar or the other navigation options to go through the themes available on https://addons.thunderbird.net/. It should still work.
It’s easier to install them through Thunderbird than to try to download them using a browser and then installing them manually."

Install the latest version of Thunderbird/Add on Manager/Themes/ Featured Extensions/Themes/Top Rated/ Choose the theme you want and click Add to Thunderbird/ and then you can choose newest/top rated/etc. If you want my themes you can put in a search as "by MaDonna". It only shows 93 themes and I don't know why. Or if you want a specific theme, try putting the name of the theme in the search but not all will work on Thunderbird for some reason.

Let me know if this works for you or if I need to get better information for you. Like I say, it worked for me!

❄ Oh My, It's December! ❄

Winter Glowing Green

I am highlighting one of my older themes but it is time tested and still a pretty good winter/Christmas theme.

I am happy to see I have some new followers. Thanks for becoming a follower and checking in on it once in awhile. You will probably see I am very sporadic at posting. Here it is 9 days into December and I just realized I still had Thanksgiving on my blog...Let us hope your Thanksgiving leftovers didn't last this long!

I am still working on updating themes and I did not realize I had so many Christmas themes and very few had been updated...so I am working on it.

My husband is doing very well....slow and steady. The Doctors have scheduled his kidney cancer surgery for late January. I am just hoping by then the soreness from all of his abdominal incisions from the October surgery are better. They are going to do this next surgery robotically also and there will be around 6 or 7 incisions but on his side. They also said this surgery will be 4 to 5 hours long and is riskier than the first one because there are so many blood vessels in the kidney. At this time they don't know if they will be removing just the growth, part of the kidney or the entire kidney.

Our Thanksgiving was very pleasant. No one brought up politics so everyone was speaking to one another and we all had a good time. Got to see a couple grandsons we don't get to see as often as we would like. Dinner was good and we did have some left overs! Which I do like...

Time to get the fire started for the evening so I will sign out for now.

Don't spend to much money on Christmas! But have fun shopping!

Small Setback!

1 Fall Country Farm

Well, everything was going along soooo sell and then last Thursday my dear husband starting bleeding so I took him to the ER first about 6:00 AM. They took tests, etc. and we got to come home. He stopped bleeding on his own and was taking it a bit easier. He had been splitting wood, etc and shouldn't have since it had only been 3 weeks since his surgery. Then yesterday the hospital called and said the culture had shown bacteria growing so he had to go on antibiotic and hopefully that will clear everything up. It just seems like we start thinking everything is going to be over soon and then you get kicked in the butt! We will overcome this, too.

I found a new extension I am liking. I have sensitive dry eye syndrome so light hurts my eyes and I had been using an extension that darkens websites. I tried another one last week called Dark Reader. So far so good. If the brightness bothers your eyes, give it a try. I will keep you informed on which one I like best.

I don't know why I keep working on new themes. I guess it is therapy! I have so many farm, country, cottage themes made so I should stop making them. They really aren't very popular because I think the younger users are into gaming, etc. and many have probably never set foot on a farm!

I am sure you have noticed that when you go to your Add On/Themes they are listed in alphabetic order, which I do like. BUT I wish they would leave the theme you are using on the top until you disable it. I have to test every theme I make after it has been accepted and on line. But then I would like to be able to go back to the theme I was currently using but you can't. So I am putting a number 1 or 2 in front of a title so it will be at the top of my list. Because lets face it, we all have at least one theme, we really, really like.

My Fibromyalgia has really acted up lately. I don't know if it is stress or cold weather since both aggravate it. I am trying Tumeric to see if that will help the inflammation. Most of the pain is caused from inflammation they say. So we shall see. I never found anything that ever really helped in all 30 years I have had it.

I am finding it hard to get into the spirit of Thanksgiving. I am so thankful that my husband is here and doing pretty well. And thankful that our family is doing well and are so close. It isn't that, it is just that I am so tired...the thought of doing all that cooking, etc. is kind of hard to get excited about. But have to get into the spirit of it by the week end because I have to really get to work...

Well I had best get to work. Almost time to figure out something that is very healthy for dinner. I would be satisfied just having a smoothie but have to cook for my husband. I find it hard to think...

Hope everyone is enjoying the fall weather and is happy and healthy.

If I don't get back before Thanksgiving...have a great one and hopefully you have family to share the day with.

👌 Everything is Great

F-fox Gumball Bright

I have some time to catch up on my blog and it is all good. My almost 84 year old husband came through a very serious 4 1/2 hour surgery with flying colors. And everything is going very well. He just came in and said he was going on a hike! He has to get his blood count back up and his strength. In a month we go back and will see about getting the small cancer in his kidney removed. I feel so grateful and happy. If someone would have told me we would be in this place last July, I wouldn't have believed them. But he is an amazing man and I am happy and proud to be looking ahead to our 63rd wedding anniversary.

I have actually found time to make some new designs using some of the newer Firefox logos. And I so enjoy making the fall themes because of the bright colors.

 Thanksgiving Farm

Thanksgiving is less than 2 weeks away and I will be having our usual Thanksgiving dinner. This will be the 61st Thanksgiving dinner in a row I have made. The first few I made were not turkey but venison that my husband had shot. As you know (if you have been reading my blog for awhile) we lived up in the mountains east of Everett, WA. My husband worked for the United States Forest Service so we lived close to the work! We loved it up there, over 11 miles from town and our nearest neighbor was over a mile away. So our kids were raised in a far different life style than most. But they learned how to play with each other, work together and not have to be taken to ballet, fancy birthday parties, dance, and every other thing that kids have to do now. They learned how to be without electricity after a snow storm. And we had a lot of those. My husband would pack water in buckets from the creek for our water supply because the pump wouldn't work if the electricity was out. And we had a lot of snow storms, but it was a beautiful soft snow that didn't drift like it does up here close to the Canadian border.

Wow, I got off on a tangent there, didn't I?

Back to Thanksgiving....I have used the same menu and cooked the same things from the same old family recipes. I don't make near as much food anymore because aunts, uncles, and cousins came to dinner, and my parents and grandparents. Most of them are gone now, and missed. So it is a much smaller group. And I get much tireder when it is all done!

We have been having great sunshiny weather for November. Which is unheard of. November is usually our wettest month...and it sounds like we will be getting some rain this weekend.

I am still working on theme updates and actually removing some of the old ones that weren't very good and no one uses. I should probably remove even more. So many of the new themes are made in Firefox color and are all so similar. I can't use Persona Plus to test my themes anymore and I really am upset about that. Using Firefox Color to test themes is not very user friendly. Plus you can only test so many and then I have to either delete the storage of remove FC and re-install it. They are supposed to be updating it soon so it may get easier.

Going to sign off for now. I hope you all a very good weekend and don't spend too much money Christmas shopping!

Thankful Thanksgiving Owls

😍😍SUCCESSFUL SURGERY!😍😍

😊

Just wanted to post quickly that my husbands surgery went very well. Took 4 1/2 hours and he is very sore and in quite a bit of pain. Got to bring him home yesterday and he had a really bad night so probably should have stayed one more night. The Doctors and nurses have been so helpful and kind. But they were working with a very wonderful  man. Thanks for all your hopes and prayers.

👍

Be back soon....Have a great weekend!

🦊 Themes on Android 🦊

October Road

October 22nd was supposed to be the update so Firefox themes would work on Android. So many were having a problem with some themes on their Android. I just tried a couple this morning on my cell phone and they do seem to be working. So if you gave up applying a specific theme to your Android, try it again.

While I am posting, I want to promote a specific product. As you all know I have had Fibromyalgia for almost 40 years. I suffered with it for 14 years before they diagnosed it! Anyway what with Fibromyalgia and going on 81 the fall weather has really made me achy and stiff. My granddaughter-in-law gave me a sample of a product her Aunt sells. So I thought I would try it and WOW! This is the first product that I have ever tried (and I have tried so many) that you can tell within a few minutes that it works. It is CBD MAG Muscle Mist. I can barely raise my arms above my head in the morning and I spray this on and it just takes a few minutes for it to dry and you can actually feel it start to work.

I rarely do this but if you are suffering from aches and pains, etc. give this a try.

I will sign off for now and get back to work.

1 Country Autumn Painting

I am totally amazed that it has been over a month since I have posted here. I am really sorry but it seems like there is so much to do and we have been having so many appointments, so time is flying.

We went from summer one day and cold, chilly fall the next. I am not kidding. It was super warm one day and the next day it was very chilly. And we haven't had any summer days since then. We had a very early frost, so my hanging baskets all got frozen. We had planned on trying to keep one through the winter and get it cut back and in the shop but that didn't happen.

I am still working on trying to get my themes updated. I have been working on that for 7 months. I am beginning to see the end though. I have removed some all together and probably should go through them again and delete more.

Do you like the way your themes are displayed and using them from your Add-Ons? I like that they are arranged alphabetically BUT I wish they would change it so the last one you used would be on top and you could be able to be enable it again. Right now your only choice is Disable, Remove or Report. I posted about this on the forum but I doubt if anyone thinks it is that big of a deal!

Well, the day we have been waiting for, Oct 24th is coming up...We had one scare last week. We spent all day Sat. in the ER. So then we had to go to our family Dr. and he got my husband into the Cardiology within 2 days. Which is a miracle around here! And the Cardiologist gave him the go ahead and said he was at very low risk! We have just been having a hard time keeping his blood pressure down. Most every pill makes him feel bad...so I have been doing a lot of research online. I am putting apple cider vinegar into his water, etc. since they say it will work! We shall see. He doesn't mind drinking it, but I tried doing it and just could not do it. So his 5 hour surgery will hopefully finally take place this Thursday. I know he is dreading it and doesn't like the idea of being out/under for that long but that is how long they think it will take. I know he is strong and can make it. He has to...because I can't think of the alternative.

Well, I am going to sign off now and get back to work. Hope you all have a great fall week end. Our daughter is having our family all over tomorrow before surgery day. So that will be fun. And good for all of us.

The Waiting Game

High Velocity Fun Flowers

Looks like we are back on the waiting game for my husband's robotic surgery. October 24th is the earliest we can get in. So far he is doing all right. He has quit bleeding so that is wonderful news and he can begin to get his blood count back up.

A friend gave us a Vitamix blender and I have been having fun making all kinds of healthy protein filled smoothies. I have watched several videos and learned a lot. He needs to eat a lot of spinach and he was getting so tired of it! But with the Vitamix I can make 3# of spinach and a bit of water, put it in ice cube trays and throw it into the smoothie. So he gets a lot more spinach that way and you don't have to worry about it going bad in the refrigerator. We still have to get his blood count up but he is doing more and really wanting to to get back into his work routine. The sad part is he missed out on most of the summer weather. It is cloudy and rainy now and supposed to be a pretty wet winter. Not fun!

The technical people have apparently found the problem of some of the themes not working on Android phones and tablets. "It looks like this has been fixed and is set to go out to users on October 22. (If users are using a pre-release channel, this should be fixed for them on Beta68.2b1, Firefox Nightly 71.0a1, and Nightly 70.0a1)." So you guys can do a little waiting along with me and my husband!

Another Windows 10 update this morning, but I happened to find something in this one, I did not know and think I will love it. I am a silly old lady and just love emoji's. And have wondered how to put them in some things...Well you can right click the taskbar and  up pops a number of things you can do. I clicked on Show touch keyboard button and there it is.
🦊
I think I am so smart to check that out! I am sorry but I am such a "geek".

Thanks to all of you that are praying for my dear, sweet husband. Without him I don't think I could live. We have been together for 63 1/2 years and that is a very long time. Mostly all good, too. We have struggled with not having enough money most of our lives but most people do that. We have always been very self reliant and done most everything that needed doing ourselves and not called professional in (they cost $$). The night before his first scheduled surgery I turned the ceiling fan on and it wouldn't come on, so I got the step stool and got up to change the up/down of the fan and smoke started coming out of it! So we got everything shut down but couldn't get to trying to fix it until much later. As we figured it was old and broken, just like us! So we had to order a new one and instead of us working as a team and getting the old one down and the new on put together and installed, our son had to do it for us. We know he doesn't mind doing it but it is really hard for my husband to have someone else do something for us. When our son's and one grandson came to start cutting and splitting our winter wood (our trees that blew down last winter), he had tears in his eyes. I felt so badly for him...but I guess at 84 he is going to have to ask for help once in awhile. Although we are hoping after his surgery, healing and getting stronger he can get back to doing most of the things he wants to do.

Well, it is time for me to start thinking about what healthy foods I can fix for dinner.

Thanks for reading my silly little blog and have a good week end.

SURGERY DIDN"T HAPPEN!

 Mountain Cabin Collage 3

I am so disappointed...first thing Friday morning the hospital called and wanted us there an hour early so we hurried around and got there. They took him up to Pre-op and wouldn't let me go with him so they got him all prepped and ready...then left him alone in the room so he could start worrying and get stressed out. So he started having chest pains so that stopped everything in the tracks.....No surgery until he was checked out in Cardiology. He spent the night being monitored all night and tests. Saturday morning they did a stress test and he passed with flying colors so now...we are back to square 1 on a wait for a surgery date. We waited 6 weeks for this one. Let us hope it won't be another 6 weeks. The only good thing is that his blood count is coming up every day. It was 10.3 on Tues. and by Fri. it was 11.7. so that is good and he is not bleeding anymore so we sit and wait.

Thanks for all your kind thoughts and prayers.

Till next time!

Tomorrow is the day!

Pansies and Lavender

Well, tomorrow is the day we have been waiting for. In June when they said end of August or September, we thought it would never get here. And it has been a good thing to wait because in the last two weeks since the bleeding stopped he has been able to get some energy back and bring his blood level up some. They will probably give him a transfusion either before or during surgery...but we shall see. They are doing his surgery robotically so he will have less blood loss and quicker recovery and we had to wait over a month for the room with the equipment in to become available. We were originally scheduled for Sept. 3rd but since he was on a cancellation list, it got moved up to Aug. 30th. They have said at least a 5 hour surgery so it is going to be a long wait...

Now to Firefox....no one has been able to figure out why some of the themes work with Android and some don't. I am wondering if it could be that the Android software is different in different phones, tablets, etc. so the themes may work in some and not others. I have no way of checking that out, but they don't work with my Android 8.0.0.

Going to finish getting our "Go Bag" packed up and ready for tomorrow.

Thought I would post a pic of the pickles, myself, daughter and grand daughter put up this year. It is a yearly thing for us to do.  We have so much fun, laughs and wine while we work.

Well, got to get to work. Wish us luck!

Problem with theme and Android?

Autumn River Ranch

Are you having a problem with some of the latest versions of a theme on an Android cell or tablet? Well, you are lucky if you aren't. No one can seem to figure out why but I have asked the tech experts to try to figure it out! My Running Foxes has been very popular and worked just fine. But a user asked me to change the far left part to be darker because on larger screen the dark gray didn't show up as well. So I did just that and resubmitted it. Then a user sent me a note saying that had been their favorite theme and used it for several years BUT all of a sudden it was plain white and when they tried to install it again, it was still white. So I asked a "higher up" about it and they didn't know...so I have posted a question on the forum and hopefully someone will figure out why the new themes don't work well/if at all on Android. I have figured out a workaround though. If the theme you like quit working, scroll down to See Older Versions and install Version 3. I have posted the instructions on the theme itself and don't be afraid to use it. It won't hurt anything. I had to do that on my cell. When/If I get an answer I will post it here.

I will write more later this week. My husband's surgery is scheduled for Fri. so will be pretty busy after that. Have a good week.

Setbacks!

Autumn Poppies & Bird

Just when I think things are starting to go well....I get an education in what doesn't happen!

Last Friday I took my husband to the Urologist for a routine check and everything seemed to be on schedule, with the robotic surgery scheduled for August 30th. But later that afternoon he started bleeding really bad and clotting so it was a bad week end. No sleep, etc. So called on Monday and they said to start flushing to keep the clots out so we have been doing that every few hours. That is a messy, messy thing to have to do. And no fun for either one of us, but much worse for him. I don't know how he is supposed to get his strength back when he keeps bleeding so badly. He has no appetite so has to force food down because he knows he has to to keep his strength up for the surgery. Luckily the weather has been pretty good so he can sit outside (he hates being inside) and get some rest. I seem to have the washing machine going non stop and a lot of cleaning house.

I still find time to work on themes, though. That is when I can get lost and forget about things I don't want to think about. I really don't know what I would do if I wasn't involved in Firefox and working with Photoshop. You can only clean and cook and wash so much....Plus I still have hundreds of themes yet to update.

So I thank all of you that are using my themes and write such wonderful reviews. It keeps my mind busy with good thoughts.

Apparently some of the new themes don't work with Android. I don't know why and can't do anything about that so am sorry. I have a message into a Mozilla tech so maybe I will find out why and will let you all know.

Time to get back to work. Have a great week and don't forget to let your loved ones know you love them. Take care!

Home Now!

Well, the worst is over, I hope, for my husband. He is recuperating, trying to get his strength up. He managed to have a minor heart attack after we got home from the hospital the first time. So I had to call the EMT's again. What great men we have! When you need help and the room is covered with blood it is time to call 911. I have had to call them 4 times in the last 2 to 3 weeks. Three times they took him in to the ER and 1 time I took him. These gentlemen were so caring and helpful to both my husband and myself. I can't really say the ER in our area works very well, though. One time the EMT's took him in and the ER people put him in a wheelchair and set him by the door. When I got there I expected to find him in the back in a bed. Well, he could tell when he was going to start bleeding and he told me he didn't want to scare the little kids in the waiting room, so I pushed the wheelchair out into the receiving area and he bled all over the cement! I put the blanket (covered with blood) back over his legs and wheeled him back in. I told the nurse there was a lot of blood out by the door so I guess they finally decided it was a little more important they took him to the back rather than all of the people that were waiting that had a tiny cut or sniffles! Most of them should have gone to the aftercare or their Dr. during the day. That was the worse experience we had during the entire 2 weeks but that was one we won't forget. They performed emergency surgery on the 4th of July. There were two days when I didn't think he was coming home but he is strong and made it through. The only thing is, he has at least 2 surgeries ahead of him and perhaps 1 more if they decide he needs another stent. Of course, none of the surgeries will be done if he doesn't get a cardiologist to sign off and say his heart is strong enough. He had 3 transfusions while he was in the hospital the 2nd time after the surgery and 1 iron infusion at the first hospital stay. About all I did during that time was check emails before I got to the hospital at 7:00 and home at 8:30 or so. Check emails and quickly submit a theme or two. It helped me so much to get my mind off of things.

I can't say enough about family during something like what we just went through. Our kids practically held me up the day of his surgery. I was bundled up in 2 hooded sweatshirts and still cold and shaking. The entire 2 weeks is all a kind of blur in my mind but our kids were always there...by my side. And so helpful...bringing us food and picking up groceries, mowing lawns, etc. And the grand kids. I just feel so very lucky that I have my husband of 62 1/2 years back home by my side and the kids and grand kids close.

Thanks to all of you that have given me your thoughts and best wishes. I really appreciate them and appreciate them. Firefox themes have been therapy for me. I get lost in making them and sometimes getting lost is very good.

Will try to be better at posting but time is kind of short.

Have a great week! Keep cool!

~~Happy Independence Day~~

PRIDES OF AMERICA

Happy 4th to all Americans...Republican, Democrat, Independent or whatever. We are all Americans.

The last two weeks have been really bad at our house. My husband is having a couple health issues so have been taking him to appointments,  2 trips to ER, another by ambulance, etc. He has at least 2 surgeries to look forward to! He worked way too hard on the wood from the trees we had blow down this winter. And that brought one problem on. But because of the tests they found he has cancer in his kidney. He has one surgery before they do the kidney, though. The Dr. seems to think the cancer has probably been there for a couple years and hasn't spread, etc. But it is going to be a long summer for him.

We had a sit down at the table meeting with our kids and told them what was going on and they are so supportive. I know we will have all kinds of help and support. But it is going to be a long summer. I hope the weather is nice so he can be outside as much as possible because he hates sitting in the house.

I just thought I would pop in to the blog and wish everyone a nice holiday.

Be safe and leave the fireworks to the experts!

Father's Day

Poppy Light

We had a record breaker heat yesterday but I loved it. Cooler today and they say it could sprinkle tomorrow.

I just wanted to do a quick update here. Everything going well with knee, I walked 2.43 miles one day last week. I wasn't going for that far, but I forgot how many laps I had done! So now I take a piece of chalk with me and make a mark on the gate! Old age is great, isn't it? Yesterday I did 2 miles and it was over 80° so that wasn't bad but I was a bit shaky when I got back. I had taken a frozen bottle of water with me and thought it would thaw enough so I could get a drink after each lap but it didn't work that way!

My husband has been working so hard on getting the trees down and cut up that blew over during our northeaster. Our son has helped when he can..but my husband is 83 and is working too hard. I have been going out and making him shut it down in the afternoon, though. He also worked 3 days on a woman's car that has over 300,000 miles on it. I know darn well she can afford to buy a better car but it is much cheaper to have my hubby work his butt off for 3 days in the heat to fix it. I wish I could get him to tell people he is done working on cars but...he is just too darn good hearted.

Tomorrow is the luncheon for the group physical therapy class I went to. They all had knee or hip replacements, so that will be fun to see how everyone is doing. And Saturday our granddaughter graduates from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Early Care & Education in Teaching & Learning with High Honors! So that will be something special. Hope it isn't too hot or wet as it is outside. (Proud grandma bragging!!)

Now to Father's Day. I hope everyone let's their Father know they love him and are happy is he is still around. The pictures on the top of my blog are pictures of my Dad. Pretty good looking guy. He was hard working and wish he could have stayed around longer but he was a smoker all his life and it caught up with him. He got depressed because he couldn't get around very good and with his health it was one thing after another. He decided he didn't want to be around any longer, leaving my Mom heart broken. I understood how he felt, though and forgave him. I will be thinking about him this Sunday.

Have a good week end and enjoy your Dad!

FIREFOX IS FASTER!!!!

Last of the Sunset

Firefox has gotten up to 80% faster than a year ago (and still going) by making improvements at an average of 1% faster every week all while protecting your privacy online.

I am still updating themes! I wonder if I will ever finish. They only let me update 3 at a time now, so it takes a long time.

We are having very nice weather this week so I have been able to go walking every day. Monday we went to Whatcom Falls Park and did some hiking and I "did" the stairs. I don't know how many there are as I was watching my steps, but I haven't been able to walk up stairs normally for over 20 years. So going through all the pain and physical therapy was worth it.  I am walking about 1 1/2 miles and riding the exercise bike 20 minutes everyday. If it is nice! I am a fair weather walker so won't go out when it is rainy and blowing!

Our great granddaughter has a piano recital tomorrow afternoon so we are anxious to hear her play. We have missed most of our oldest great grandson's lacrosse games this year because of my knee and so many games have been far away. He got chosen for an elite team in Seattle and all of those games are going to be to far away but family keeps us up to date by texting how things are going. We did get to one of his tournaments a couple Saturday's ago. It was fairly close and the weather was great.

Wow! That is all I can say about the news every day. I am always anxious to get out of bed to hear who Twittered what! It is so embarrassing for our great country.

I was on the phone for a half hour yesterday with Xfinity getting a new package and trying to save some money. We have been with them since 1980 so you would think we would get some kind of loyalty discount, wouldn't you? Well we don't. I had to downsize our package just to keep the bill about the same price it has been for 2 years. Plus they keep charging more for the boxes, and the taxes go up. It gets a bit too much...we sure don't get more income. It gets harder and harder for senior citizens to live anymore. I know it is for us. But the cost of living goes up for everyone so we aren't alone!

Well, I am going to get dinner started. We have been able to eat dinner on the picnic table most nights this week.

Have a super great week end!

Call your mother!

Gossiping Grannies

As you are aware I am updating all of my themes..anyway most of them. Some that are very popular I don't want to change it for the users so I am making a Version 2 for the users that don't want those faded looking toolbars. I came across this one I made awhile ago and thought it would be perfect for Mother's Day! I adore the looks on their faces.I also thought it would be a reminder for you to call or visit your Mother and Grandmothers. Even if it is one you haven't been in contact with lately...give her a call. Let her know you are thinking about her.

I have been riding my exercise bike 20 minutes every day and walking a mile most days. I still need to work on the range of motion as I can't bend it as far as I want. I had it at 122° when I "graduated" from Physical Therapy and I don't think I have gained that much on it. I guess I am expecting too much from my 80 year old body.

We are all going to our daughter's house tomorrow to celebrate Mother's Day and the weather is supposed to be high 70's so we can be outside. Really looking forward to it.

Going to get back to work and then have to go for my walk. I hope you all have a great Mother's Day and give Mom some love!

Have a great week end.

Firefox Fixed!

Mountain Lights

Just thought I would pop in and let everyone know that Firefox fixed the extension problem that caused so many users to be unhappy with themes, etc. I got a lot of bad, 1 star reviews because they seemed to think the problem was me!

So pop in to the themes and check the new ones and the updated ones to find one you like!

Have a good week. Looks like summer is on it's way in the Pacific Northwest. Great weather ahead for the week and continues through Mother's Day.

Temporary problem with themes and extensions!

Just a quick note!

Firefox discovered a problem with some of the themes and extensions so currently people are having a problem downloading a theme, submitting, etc. So you may get an error message or something else. Have patience....they are working on it and dit will be fixed shortly.

Certificate issue causing add-ons to be disabled or fail to install:
We rolled-out a fix for release, beta and nightly users on Desktop. The fix will be automatically applied in the background within the next few hours, you don’t need to take active steps.
For more information, please see https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2019/05/04/update-regarding-add-ons-in-firefox/

Hopefully this will give you a bit of info and the "fix" will be fixed soon.

I am back!

Calm River

Well, I am back with a brand new knee. It has been 6 weeks and it was pretty tough for awhile. But with family and hard work I got through it and walk without a limp now! I still have a lot of pain or ache...whatever you want to call it. But I am not taking pain medication, except naproxen sodium and acetaminophen. The only time I took the oxy the surgeon prescribed was when I was in the hospital and before Physical Therapy classes. I graduated from that on Wed. I have to do exercises at home at least once a day now...it was twice a day. I can go down to 3 times a week over time. But I am back riding my exercise bike every day and started going for walks again.

I have been working on updating themes again and actually making a few new ones. Can't sit at the computer that long so have to keep getting up and doing something.

Several people have commented on the updates...so I will try to answer some of them. One thing is the " Find" bar at the bottom. I never use it so it doesn't bother me, but I have mentioned it to some Mozilla people and I think they are working on that to fix it. I use the Home Page to do any searching. And for my Home Page I use the New Tab Page where I have the sites that I go to almost every day. Check it out and see if you like that.

I love the way the new/updated themes look because you can see the entire design. I even removed the search bar on my Firefox so it doesn't cover the theme. I just use the Home page to search. But for you that have an older theme that you loved and used all the time, please email me the title and I can re-submit it so it will look like the original theme. OK? I have saved most of my themes. It is just a matter of IF I can find it. Sometimes I have to change the title of the theme because there is another one with the same title, or I just decide I like a different title than what I gave it when I made it.

Calm Sunrise

Hope everyone had a nice Easter or spring holiday. I am so looking forward to nice warm/hot weather. March and April was actually warmer than normal here, after the colder than normal February. My husband has been working hard on getting all the trees cleaned up and cut up after the northeaster blew them down. Plus he had to cut another one because it was left so vulnerable from the others falling.

I hope you all have a great week end.

Email me the titles of the themes you want re-submitted and I will start working on it.

Quick Note about Updated Themes

We are finding that some users do not like the new updated theme format at all. I have had some very rude comments about this, If you like to have your bars with some shading you can go back and use the version that had it. The ones we are updating, usually don't so it allows you to see more of the theme.

So if your theme changed and you don't like the change, just go find the theme and scroll down the left side till you see "See all Versions" and go back to the version you liked. There is a big scary yellow warning bar...but it is perfectly safe to use the version you like!

I am very busy trying to get my knee healed and with all the exercises, PT and icing, resting..I am not getting much other done.

Have a good week.

Ready for my new knee!

Blue Grass Rain Shower Petite

Well, tomorrow is the big day! I get my new knee. It is scary but will be fantastic when the pain of surgery, etc. is over and I can walk with no pain. Anyway...that is how I hope it turns out. My knee is bone against bone so is pretty painful.

I have been so busy and overwhelmed with getting everything ready for that and then having to update 20,000+ themes. I have barely made a dent in that. And I have been working so hard.

Spring Rain Drops

If you have any of my themes saved in your Themes, you might want to go to your Themes and check for updates. I haven't been submitting as many new ones because of working on the old ones, getting them updated so more theme shows.

My 80th birthday was great. All (most) of the grandkids and great grandkids were here for so much food, cake and ice cream. I didn't have to do anything but make sure the house was clean...which it usually is....but had to do a bit more than usual. Our windows had gotten so dirty on the outside from all the snow and wind we had. My dear husband cleaned the outside and I got the inside clean.

Our February was one of the coldest we have ever had. So much wind damage, too.

Well, I am going to finish mopping the kitchen and get my stuff packed to go to the hospital tomorrow morning early.

I am sorry I didn't get back on to thank people for their well wishes and birthday wishes, but like I said it has been a hectic month. With all the physical therapy, etc. the next month isn't going to get any better. But I will try to get a few themes submitted and keep working on updates.

Happy Spring everyone!

Marching into March

Cat Rainbow Wishes

Are you ready for March? I certainly won't be marching into it!

My 80th birthday is this week and some days I feel it and others I don't. I have been overwhelmed with everything that is going on. I have been trying to update all my themes to match the new format and it takes forever...and I haven't even got a fraction of them done. I am on page 21 of 1686 pages! Some of them I can't update for some reason. But I will keep working on it.

I am having a complete knee replacement in mid March and I have so much to do to get ready for that. So many appointments, meetings, exercises, etc. When I looked at the notebook the Dr. gave me I thought the exercises would be a snap...but they are very painful. The Lions Club are a wonderful place to go for walkers, etc. There is no charge and you get to use them for 3 months. So if any of you have a parents medical equipment, the Lions Club would be a wonderful place to donate them. It would cost an awfully lot to have to purchase them. I am supposed to eat more protein to get my body in better condition since it is going to need it to get well quicker. I am not much of a meat eater so we got some cases of high protein drinks. So I feel full all the time and I hate that feeling.  Enough of that...

We have had the coldest February! We were snowed in for 2 weeks and still have a lot of drifts. The NE wind blows down from the Fraser River Canyon in Canada and makes it that much colder. We lost 4 1/2 big spruce trees. One blew over and blocked our driveway. Luckily it hadn't snowed yet so my husband got that one cut and hauled out to the field, but has more to cut when it gets a bit warmer. One son's roof has to be replaced as it blew off a lot of the shingles. The snow is bad but it is that wind that makes our winters so bad. One neighbor lost his garage door and his green house was torn apart. And others lost trees, too.

I will try to write more later. Have a good week.

How are you liking Firefox Themes?

Eagles Nest

I just updated my blog for February and Valentines Day so thought I would stop designs and post a bit.

Today is Data Privacy Day so check and see if your email accounts have been broached. Firefox Monitor can check all your email accounts at: https://monitor.firefox.com/scan

Well, you have been using the newer theme site? How do you like it? Are you liking the Add-ons Manager for saving your themes and finding them? Different, isn't it? There are a few things I dislike about the Themes Add-on Manager. I wish you could go back to the theme you were using if you don't like or aren't satisfied with the new one you are trying out. I have mentioned that on the forum and hopefully they are working on it.

Spring Rain Drops

One thing I noticed this past week end was that the number of users "numbers" have totally changed. I don't know if they are correct or not!

I really felt sorry for the government workers that didn't get their paychecks for a month. I know for a fact that they don't make as much money as doing the same job in the private sector. My husband could have made twice as much working for logging companies rather than the USFS. But he like his job and enjoyed doing it. Many years in our marriage we lived paycheck to paycheck. We would have made it fine on food because I canned most of our fruits and vegetables and my husband hunted and fished so we would have had no problem with groceries. But electricity, telephone companies, etc. aren't friendly if you don't pay your bills. So I am hoping they don't have to go through that again next month but I wouldn't be surprised.

I suppose I will have to watch the Super Bowl this Sunday but I will not enjoy it. I don't have a team in the game this year...but there is one team I am hoping doesn't win...so guess I have something to cheer for...or against.

My pre-surgery exercises are getting easier for me but are still quite painful.  I will just be so glad when it is all over with and my new knee won't be painful. I know it is going to be quite painful afterwards for awhile, but I am thinking good thoughts!!!!

Hope you all have a great week and manage to keep warm in the east. I  know we are all ready for spring!
