Beautiful Double Rainbow

DOUBLE RAINBOW
http://nature.desktopnexus.com/get/487845

Last night I went to pull the shade and there was the most beautiful rainbow I have ever seen and it was a double! It was raining and I had my pajamas on (again) but I ran out and took a bunch of photos. This one is one of the best, but my camera doesn't do it justice.

Of course, I had to submit a Persona to match! The problem with Personas is there is not enough room to show much of a design. So, this was the best I could do. Hope you all like it. Personally I think it was worth getting sopping wet to get the shot.

Last week was a pretty good week. Our great grandson got to spend Friday with us the whole day. You can imagine how active a 5 1/2 year old can be. He loves bull riding, and since we don't have a real bull, he gets to "ride" the foot stool we inherited from my Mom. Needless to say, it is not in the excellent condition it was when we bought it home.  I hope she doesn't mind! He has been riding it since he was under 2 and has way outgrown it, but I am not going to tell him he can't ride it anymore. It is always Great Grandma that ends up with the injuries, though! His bony elbow hit my bony hand so I have a big bruise on the back of my left hand. You see, I have to hold him when he is in the "chute" so the "bull" doesn't get out of control! But it was great fun.

Fall has definitely set in as you can see by the color of our trees. And it is snowing in the mountains. I am hoping I can get some snow photos this year, but I don't want to take them at our house! The Farmers Almanac says we are in for a hard winter and we get northeasters blowing out of the Frasier River Valley that are so bad!  So I am hoping they are wrong.

Back to work, so hope you all have a super week and enjoy the colors of fall. The leaves will be gone soon and the dreariness of winter will set in.

Wednesday Morning Horses

Wednesday Morning Horses
http://www.getpersonas.com/en-US/persona/315775

I decided to post a design I put on this morning. On my way home from getting groceries yesterday morning (I do my shopping very early) the horses were standing in the sunshine enjoying the early morning quiet. I swear they were posing for me! I also put a desktop wallpaper on line (the link is under the details on the Persona site). In the far background if you look real closely you can see the Canadian Mountains. There was frost in the shade at the lower part of the design as the sun hadn't hit that part of the pasture yet.

It is so funny how or why some designs get popular and others just sit there. I can make one that I think turns out great and a few people will use it. Then I can put one on I am not real happy with and it will get used.  So I guess I am not a very good judge of nature.

I got a pretty good shot of a sunset a couple nights ago. I went out in the pasture in my pajamas but it was too pretty not to take advantage of it. So will post it, too.

We are getting a lot of new designers that are submitting and some are so talented. Then I start feeling inferior and get mad at myself that there are certain things I want to learn how to do in Photo Shop and I just can't figure out how to do it. And I probably never will get it. Then I will get a great email from someone like I did this morning from Shelly and I start feeling better.  Or the comment from Susan. I really appreciate people actually taking time out of their busy day to say thanks. So, now it is my turn to say thanks....to all of you that are using my designs.  Thank you. And have a great week end.

By The River

By The River
http://www.getpersonas.com/en-US/persona/312528

This is one of my favorite fall designs. I had it on last year but smaller. This one makes it so you can see more of the river.

I haven't checked in for awhile and to  my followers I am sorry. I just get so involved in life and everything else I just didn't take the time. I know everyone says it, but I swear the older you get, the faster the time goes by. I wish I had the energy to get up real early every day and start doing what I want to do. But, I don't. The things I HAVE to do get in the way! And there really is only so much time in a day.

I have been working on a few holiday designs but nothing really exciting. Anyway, I don't think so. Every year it gets harder to get in a holiday mood. Families get older and everyone has obligations.  Family get-to-gathers get harder to arrange so the most can attend. Sometimes I feel like chucking it! I won't but sometimes I feel that way.

We went out on a photo shoot (as I call them because it sounds professional!) yesterday. But there was nothing that really came out. Everywhere we went there were too many people or too many houses. I really don't want people or houses (unless they are old and abandoned) in my work. We tried to get to a spot on the bay because I wanted to get some water photos, but rich people have built their big, fancy houses and put up gates, so that idea was shot. So I came home pretty empty handed.

Wow, I sound down in the dumps today and maybe I am.

So, rather than get anyone else down, I think I will just sign off for today and get back on when I feel a bit cheerier.

You all have a good week. And thanks for accepting my work and using it.

Sunset Photo Shoot

Sunset Fishing
http://nature.desktopnexus.com/wallpaper/470933/

Well, we went on the photo shoot I had been thinking about all year and it was kind of like everything you think about for a long time. It is always better in your mind than the actual thing! All year long I could remember this beautiful sunset shot I didn't get. But last year there were more clouds in the sky so the sun had more light to reflect off. Needless to say I was very disappointed in what I got a photo of, but thought I would post it anyway. The guy fishing in the middle of the river was having a good time, though. He will never know he had his photo taken.
 Fog in the Pasture

I did get a shot that I really liked on the way home though and I will post it as a Persona. There is a field at the bottom of a hill and the cattle were grazing by the pond and the fog was just forming. I thought it turned out great.  If you like it, the link to the wallpaper is posted with the details of the Persona design.  For some reason, fog fascinates me. I think it is beautiful in photography, but no fun to drive in.

Last time I posted I was worried about my grandson. He is home and doing well.  He has a flu like inflammation around his heart, which can be dangerous, but he is "hopefully" taking care of himself and not working too hard.  Of course he is back at work already. He is from a family of over achieving-hard workers, so what else can we expect?

I am very proud of myself and actually got on here twice this week to post. My super sister manages to do it every day!

New Week

Signs of Autumn
http://www.getpersonas.com/en-US/persona/308030

The start of the new week and I have been busy working away. I made this design this morning and was very pleased with how it turned out. I also have the wallpaper on line at:  http://nature.desktopnexus.com/wallpaper/467769/  It looks great on the screen. Very bright and colorful.

I spent most of the week end working. It is funny, sometimes my head is full of ideas and then once in awhile, there is nothing! But last night a couple ideas popped into my head. When that happens I grab a tablet and kind of draw it out or at my age, I will forget! Half the time, the idea won't turn out, but once in awhile it does...

Right now I am concerned about our oldest grandson who was taken to the hospital this morning with chest pains. I am hoping it is just stress since they have a new baby and he just started his own business and is very busy. Please God, let that be it. He is a wonderful, strong man with too much energy. I am thinking good thoughts for him.

My husband and I went in and got our flu shots this morning. I would recommend that everyone get one, so if you are thinking about it, DO IT!!!

Till next time...thank you all for dropping by.

Photo Shoot

Mount Shuksan and  Image Lake

We got to go on a photo shoot yesterday. We went to Artist Point and Twin Lakes. I was amazed at the beautiful colors already. They were so vibrant, but alas, my poor digital camera is not up to the fantastic beauty of the Pacific Northwest. But I try!!! The photo I added today is of Mount Shuksan and the lake below that some call Mirror Lake and some call Image Lake. It is a favorite spot for photos and photo takers. You have a hard time getting a shot without people in it!

I loved getting away for the day and going to one of our favorite places, the mountains. We drive the many mountain roads and  I take tons of pictures, but I usually get one or two (if I am lucky) that actually turn out. But being together, enjoying the sites and one another is better than going to some fancy hotel or spa for us! We would feel like total outcasts. About 20 years ago, my sister was in a play at a theater in Seattle and we went there to see it. We got a fantastic price at a fancy hotel, which we would never have stayed at normally. It had the turning  glass doors. and we got the suitcase caught in it!  So we ended up going around several times and got to laughing so hard! The country bumpkins in the Big City! What a great memory, though. We still laugh about it every once in awhile. So, it is the mountains for us!

I have been very busy this week so haven't had time to get on here and write anything.

News on the puppy with no name. He now has a name of Cooper.

The Persona site is getting very busy and over loaded with designs. We have a very hard time trying to keep up with the input. I don't help matters any as I submit quite a few.

Enough for today. I wish you all a great week end and do something you really like to do with the one you want to be with.

Cell Phone Wallpapers

I am thinking about making some cell phone wallpapers. Please let me know what you think about the idea and I will check into it. This is on...
