We are finding that some users do not like the new updated theme format at all. I have had some very rude comments about this, If you like to have your bars with some shading you can go back and use the version that had it. The ones we are updating, usually don't so it allows you to see more of the theme.
So if your theme changed and you don't like the change, just go find the theme and scroll down the left side till you see "See all Versions" and go back to the version you liked. There is a big scary yellow warning bar...but it is perfectly safe to use the version you like!
I am very busy trying to get my knee healed and with all the exercises, PT and icing, resting..I am not getting much other done.
Have a good week.
You're an artist. My favorite creator of Persona themes. I wish you a speedy and complete recovery.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carnacki..I am doing great and can get back to designing soon. Luckily I have a bunch made to submit.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better! I have had a few family members who had knee replacements and it really made a huge difference in their lives. Wishing you the best, and happy belated b-day. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Amanda. I am doing well. I will be glad when I can get back to designing though.
ReplyDeleteWe like your themes. But is it possible to not update them to apply the theme to the address bar and search bar? It causes many important problems in Firefox:
ReplyDelete* When we do Firefox -> Edit -> Find In This Page, the search bar at the bottom is badly broken with the new themes. None of the text and buttons are visible anymore. It's a major problem. Examples are: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/light-up-the-morning/ and https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/blue-green/
* When you style the address bar background, it makes it hard to read the URL address. It also makes it more difficult to even find the address bar.
* It doesn't fit in with the Firefox conventions. The address bar is supposed to be white or stand out from the background, so that it's easy to type text in.
* It goes against the design standards on Windows and Mac and Linux, for apps that have text fields. Text fields are not normally supposed to be colored in.
* I originally thought it was a Firefox bug. And it's hard to figure out that the theme has updated in the background, even for technical people.
* The Firefox themes website makes it hard to revert back to the older version of the theme. It only allows uninstall then re-install, then manually set the theme to not automatically update. This process is too long and complex and not user friendly for most people.
A better example is https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/summer-blur-by-m-donna/
ReplyDeletewhere the bottom Find Bar no longer works with the new theme version.
Reverting to an older theme version is not obvious: We have to click on "n reviews" in the theme settings, then click on the theme name in add-ons website, scroll to bottom, click on "See All Versions", Uninstall -> Reinstall version 1 (even though it shows a yellow warning). It goes against our trained minds to ignore warnings on websites, so it's confusing.
Your fans around the world are sorry to hear you've received rude feedback comments. That is the state of the union these days in our societies.
ReplyDeleteInternet users who exhibit incivility may be unhappy in own their troubled lives. Empathy for them would perhaps reduce the sting of their negativity.
Fortunately the Internet also harbors good-hearted givers like you who selflessly imbue the community with light.
I hope your knee is recovering nicely. Rest assured... even when you are bed-rested, your themes permeates over our browsers from day to night.
May you and everyone in the family to your great grandkid(s) stay healthy, happy, and loved. All is and will be well. Your nature themes remind us of that.
Take care. Cheers!

If you have a theme you especially like in the "old" version, email me and I can submit it so it will have the "old" version look.
