Getting better/Summer Sunshine

                                                                          B Hive

                https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/b-hive-by-m-donna/

July is almost over and I haven't written on my blog at all. Sorry about that but nothing new is really happening so....just didn't write.

My shoulder is getting better but still bothers a lot at nights. Sleeping is the hardest thing to do with a broken shoulder. Dr. said it was healing well but not quite there yet so have to go back 1 more time. I have been doing my PT at home so am getting use of my arm back...mostly. Certain things still hurt. Dr. said I would never get back all the dexterity but I will be able to manage. Doing my PT one day I had a really hard tumble. I was using the elastic bands and it popped off the machine and threw me back against a steel door! I landed on my butt, elbow and the back of my head hit the door. It knocked me a bit coo coo for a minute but after I sat a minute I started moving legs, etc. and figured nothing was broken this time. But I still have a knot on the back of my head, but bruises on hip and elbow are gone. I don't do that anymore!

Our summer is finally here,  I think. We have the coldest, wettest summer ever. But this week has been nice and next week is supposed to get in the 90's. We don't have air conditioning but when you get older the cold seems to bother us more than the heat. That is why I wear hoodies most of the year!

We still are not going out much and when we do, we wear a good mask. It is great that you can order and pick up. With gas prices I order and we pick up after a Dr. appt. So don't even make a special trip. Plus the Amazon truck comes quite often! I have figured out we actually save money doing this because when you go into a grocery store I always see several things I did not have on my list and end up in my cart!

My husband is mowing constantly because we have so much to mow. If it gets hot the grass will quit growing so he can get some relief.

I can't believe my desktop computer is still working! My grandson built it for me about 15 years ago. He has updated it a bit, SSD hard drive and a video card had to be replaced for Windows 10. But it doesn't meet Windows 11 so I guess I will just use it till they don't update Windows 10. He says he can't upgrade it any more. I can't afford a new desktop so don 't know what I am going to do. I can't really design on my laptop. And I have several programs that I use all the time that don't meet Windows 11, either....so am keeping my finger crossed! Maybe I will go before the computer! I have till Oct. 2025!

Still working on updates. I know some people like their theme to have the white or lighter toolbar areas but I am choosing to not use those on my themes.

I am going to sign off for today. I hope you are all well and having a good summer. Please stay safe. I know many people that won't wear masks but if you want to protect yourself and your loved ones...please do when you are in stores or crowds.

Have a super August.

Slowly getting better!

                                                       Summer Glory

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/summer-glory-by-m-donna/

Well, I am going to try doing a bit of typing! I posted that I broke my right shoulder on April 29th. Typical story of an old lady falling in her home! I sat down to read a bit that afternoon and fell asleep. About 10 minutes later I woke up and looked at the clock! Jumped out of the chair, not realizing my leg was asleep and gave out. As I said I leaped...so was moving fast and down I went...hard..My phone fell out of my hoodie pocket and was behind me and couldn't reach it. I had to hold my right shoulder because it was so very painful. I tried to scrunch myself to the patio door so I could pound on it hoping my hubby would hear me, but I couldn't. I thought I was going to vomit and didn't want to do it on the carpet so pulled an afghan off the rocker. But I didn't have to use it! I tried to have Alexa call 911 and she "she" couldn't and she couldn't call my neighbor so I laid there and waited. Luckily it was almost time for my husband to come in. There was no way he could get me up and into the car so he called 911. The great local EMT's came and got me to the hospital. They took xrays of my shoulder and ankle. My ankle was just sprained but there are 2 broken bones in my shoulder, the humerus broke off at the bottom of the little round top and another bone close by. They put my arm in a sling and then I got an appt. at the Dr. that gave me my new knee and did my back surgery. I was in an awful lot of pain as it is a very painful break. Sleeping in bed is really tough so I have slept most of the time in a lounger. I know I am using my arm more than I am supposed to so hope I am not hurting anything. Will find out when I got back on the 13th. It was starting to heal the last time I went in so that was good. But not being able to use your right arm is really hard! You can't do anything!

 πŸ˜’

I figured out how to use my left hand for the mouse but is very awkward. Especially the copy and paste!

 πŸ˜’

I am managing to update some of my older themes though and that is keeping me busy. Takes me twice as long to do anything!

😁

Mother's Day was fun, though. The kids brought everything, food, flowers, etc. We ate, laughed and played Uno for hours. Of course I was on pain meds!

😜

Hope you all have a great spring. We have had one 70 degree day! Yesterday! Our April and May were both colder than normal and so far June isn't that much better! That is spring time in WA.

            Hummingbird Spring by M♥Donna      https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/hummingbird-spring-theme/

Well, Ukraine is still under attack by the Russians. I just wonder if the Russian people actually realize what is going on. I fear they don't. It sounds like all the "real news" isn't getting to them, only what the Russian government wants them to hear. So sad!

🐸

Another month has come and gone. We had our 65th wedding anniversary this past week. It sure doesn't seem as long as it sounds and it has been a good 65 years. The first thing we do every morning (since Covid started) is give each other a super big hug before breakfast. Best part of the day!

🐸

I am still making and updating themes.....so boring....for all you readers.

🐸

My brother has his 80th Birthday this coming week. He is a sweetheart and had a difficult year.

🐸

My husband had heart monitor put on 2 weeks ago. It comes off tomorrow. He has to have one put on every 3 months. Hopefully not forever but we don't know.

🐸

We are going out and getting our groceries every other, very early Saturday mornings now, but we are still wearing masks. I got a hunch we will probably be wearing them the rest of our lives when/if we have to go in a store. I thanked the clerk that checked us out this morning for wearing a mask....he said, "Oh, I wasn't feeling very good this morning!" Panic attack!!!

🐸

My husband is so happy he can start mowing the lawns again. Silly guy!

🐸

Think I will go for my walk. I am really disappointed that my back started hurting again. Had the surgery in October and within a few weeks it started and is getting worse. I just DO NOT want to call the Dr. but will have to break down and do so one of these days.

🐸

 Have a fantastic April!

Marching in Support of Ukraine

                                        Supporting Ukraine

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/suypporting-ukraine-by-m-donna/

Wow...February went really fast, didn't it? But again...it is a short month. Lots have happened since I last posted. Ukraine has been invaded by a crazy man! Yes, crazy man! I turned 83...my baby sister is 70 and our oldest great grandson is 17! Time flies so fast. My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Ukraine. They are a very brave people and I hope they come out of this all right. The world seems to be backing them and that is wonderful.

Have you discovered WORDLE yet? I am addicted to it and actually do very well so far! The word Vivid had me, though. Couldn't get that one. My husband does word puzzles every morning and he is pretty sharp so I want to keep up with him!

Our oldest grandson and his family are in Mexico right now on a mission doing some building. What a great experience for the kids! Very proud of them. Hopefully they will be safe and sound.

My husband is 86 and has never been interested in computer stuff at all. And has only used a flip phone. Well a lot of flip phones, (maybe most) won't work much longer so I am switching his phone over to my old Samsung S7. He is kicking and screaming about it but 3G is going away. The only time he needs a cell phone is when he goes somewhere without me. I always have mine with me but I don't want him going up in the mountains, etc. without a phone so wish us luck! I think he will do just fine.

Going to sign off for today!  But before I do, I would like to thank Caitlin from Mozilla. She has been my go to person for several years for any problems I had or if I found a bug in Firefox! I wish her luck in whatever she decides to do in her future. She was a treasure and I will miss her. Have a great March and who knows I may get back on and so some posting before the month ends!

Prayers for the Ukranian people

January went really, really fast! Omicron was pretty bad around here so we didn't go anywhere except get groceries every other Saturday morning at 6:30 and to a Dr. appointment. We did get our free Covid tests from the USG and some free ones from WA state. So far haven't had to use them...which is good. I had ordered some KN95 masks from Amazon but they are not near as comfortable as the 3 layer cotton ones I had made. But we will wear them...probably for the rest of our lives! I sure hope not, but if it isn't one variant it is another one. Our daughter got us a few of the free masks the government sent out but we haven't gotten them yet. I hope everyone out there continues to wear masks so the elderly, the very young and immune compromised will be safe. I know it's hard, but think how much you save on blusher and lipstick!

πŸ’–πŸŒΉπŸ’–

Wow...we had a big storm that started Christmas day and lasted for 2 weeks...super cold with a strong NE wind coming down from the the Frazier River in Canada. My husband had gotten a lot of firewood in so we "thought" we were prepared. But my husband woke up with Gout in his ankle in the middle of one night and could hardly walk. The woodpile was getting a bit low and I was worried about getting the wheelbarrow through the snow drifts to get to the woodshed and back. I didn't want to bother the boys since they were having a hard time getting to work, etc. But we lucked out and the snow started to melt and I didn't run out of wood and my husband got over his first bout with Gout! What a weird thing that is! I kept telling him he must have sprained it and he swore he didn't so I got to thinking about it and got on my computer and figured out what he had. I had been telling him to stay off it, etc. and that was the worse thing he could do. Gave him Ibuprofen and he started walking on it and by that night most of the swelling was down and he could walk on it. Strange thing! He woke up with it in the middle of the night. Just like it says happens.

πŸ’–πŸŒΉπŸ’–

Superbowl next Sunday! I was glad it was these two teams, if my Seahawks couldn't play. But I really don't have a team I want to win. I was just glad Tom Brady nor Aaron Rodgers aren't playing. I have reasons for not liking either one of them! Brady tried to cheat against my Hawks by tampering with the footballs so that is the reason I don't like him. Rodgers made a fool of himself about the virus and probably caused a lot of disease to spread and that's why I don't like him. Petty I know...

πŸ’–πŸŒΉπŸ’–

My 83rd birthday is later this month. It is hard to believe how fast the time goes. I can really tell that age is catching up with me. My body aches all the time...but I keep moving. So it is harder to do specific chores and I don't think I am as quick catching on to something new on the computer. I know I don't like changes and it is harder and harder to keep up with all the new technology! Yesterday I did a really stupid thing on my cell phone. I went to delete one contact (a business we don't use anymore) and instead of deleting it...I deleted all except that one. Luckily most of them were backed up but I have a photo or logo for each and every contact and those didn't come back so I had to get all of those back and download the logo's etc. again.

πŸ’–πŸŒΉπŸ’–

Still working on updates! Doing my Winter and Valentines Day Collections now. I know I won't finish Winter until it is time to start Spring and Summer! I really don't need to make any new ones but I love making them so much I do make several each day...and just keep storing them!

πŸ’–πŸŒΉπŸ’–

I want to wish you all a wonderful February and all of you that live in the cold parts of the country keep warm! Stay safe and be kind!

🦊🦊Happy 2022🦊🦊

                                                                         2022

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2022-by-m-donna/

❄️

Happy New Year from the frozen tundra of the Pacific Northwest! We have really had the weather this past week. Woke up Christmas morning to a northeaster blowing and snowing. Kids all made it here all right because they have big 4 wheel drive pick ups. Youngest son did have to pick up our daughter because she lives on a hill and there was no way her Subaru would make it down the hill, plus the drifts that we had. We were all warm and cozy...ate a lot and drank some wine and played Uno for hours. We don't do gifts anymore and haven't done for years. None of us need any more  "stuff"! Got to see some of the grand kids and all of the great grand kids Christmas Eve day and that was super. Everyone has Covid on their minds so we didn't get to see some of the grand kids, plus the snow! I made my chicken wings that take 3 hours to cook and evervyone brought snack type foods, sandwich makings, home made blueberry cinnamon rolls, etc. A good time was had by all! And everyone got home safe and sound, thankfully.

 ❄️

But it has continued to snow and blow all week. The neighbor has a Bobcat so he plowed our dead end road. There are only 5 homes  on our road so the County snowplow never comes down it. My husband shoveled our driveway so we could get out this morning to pick up some groceries. We figured if we got up at 6:30 and went to WinCo early on New Years Day there wouldn't be many shoppers and there wasn't. We double mask and only get groceries every other week. Plus still getting stuff delivered. The Covid only seems to be getting worse what with the new Omicron.

❄️

My sister in law had a really bad fall and was in bad shape for awhile. They live in AZ and were going to fly home to WA the next day but didn't get to this year. We are all just thankful she is doing all right now.

 ❄️

I am still updating...doubt if I ever get finished. I did start a new Collection of Full Toolbar themes. It is funny because some users like the theme to go clear across the entire toolbar and others don't like that. So if you find one that should be in that Collection, please email me or review it and I will put it in.

❄️

Have really enjoyed making a bunch of brand new themes this past week. I just got needed to get Photoshop open and back to some designing.

 ❄️

I managed to get a few Christmas cards made with my old, old Broderbund program that keeps telling me it won't work with Windows 10 but I keep managing to make it work. Since we got so few cards this year I don't think I am going to send any out next year.

❄️

I do want to wish you all a much better 2022 than this past year. Let us all hope the Covid goes away and we can start living our lives again! I will be 83 next month and would really like to get back to a normal life....so please get vaccinated and wear a mask!

❄️
