Feeling a Bit Slow

Lately, things have been a little quieter here, and I wanted to share why.

I’m still creating Firefox themes and cell phone wallpapers—the work I love and care deeply about—but I’ve had to slow down. Not because the creativity is gone, but because my body has been asking me to move at a gentler pace.

I was recently diagnosed with Sjögren’s syndrome, and it has been a challenging adjustment. Some days are harder than others, and that affects how much energy I have to write, design, and release new themes as often as I used to. I’m learning to listen to my body, even when my mind wants to keep pushing forward.

That said, I’m still here. I’m still working. Just more slowly, and with more care.

As winter lingers, I find myself really looking forward to warmer weather. I’m hopeful that spring and summer will bring some relief—more comfort, more energy, and more ease in my body. Historically, warmer days have always helped me feel better, and I’m holding onto that optimism.

Creativity hasn’t left me—it’s simply resting between moments. When I do create, it’s intentional and heartfelt, and I hope that comes through in every theme and wallpaper I share.

Thank you for being patient with me, and for continuing to support my work during this season. Your kindness means more than you know. 💖

Here’s to gentler days ahead, warmer sunlight, and creating at the pace that feels right.

  1. Hi Donna: My husband's cousin has Sjögren’s syndrome, so I am familiar with some of the symptoms. I'm glad that you are listening to your body (I struggle with that myself) and that you are finding time to still be creative. Both of those things are so important. Take care and update us all when you can!

  2. Donna, it's good to see you creative again, but it hurts me to know that you're having this terrible syndrome. I had to google it and it sounds bad. Hopefully you'll find a way to deal with it in the best way possible and to feel better. I honestly wishing you strenght, patience with yourself and all the best. 🙏 And as DW said, it's good that you're listening to your body. I know as well what a struggle that can be.

And last but not least, thank you so much for the wonderful new wallpapers. I absolutely see the love you're putting into it and I'm always proud to use your art on my Firefox and my phone. 🥰

Take good care of yourself! 🍀 I'm looking forward to read from you again.

  3. Hello Donna, I've been following you and your desktop personas for years and so sad to hear about your health challenge. My twin sister has this as well, but I know that if you listen to your body, you will succeed. I also have an immune disorder and work full-time at NASA no less. I'm also an older gal who found my passion later in life in computers. I wanted to ask you a question that might be of interest to you: have you ever considered licensing your art for the purpose of creating jigsaw puzzles for American companies? I think many of your designs are perfect for the idyllic types of genres used. Even though I'm extremely high tech I have to unplug frequently, and doing massive sized jigsaw puzzles is my favorite way of doing that! if you're interested it could be a great way for you to build passive income as you adjust your new work /health balance. I would love to know and even happy to help research companies and so forth. Take care and be well. Suzanne.
